Brandon Demmery Racing will go through a rebranding phase this year, with a new colour scheme, a new rider line up and a new major sponsor. We are very excited to welcome Deborah Motorsports as the teams Naming Rights sponsor for the 2017 season.

Deborah Motorsports is owned by Deborah Funoo and along with the sister company Tuross Motorsports, they will support the team throughout the 2017 season. Tuross Motorsports past and present sponsored riders include;

The collaboration between Deborah Motorsports and Brandon Demmery Racing will have a positive impact on the team, the riders and the series as team owner Brandon Demmery explains “ I’m about to start my 11th full season road racing having started when I was 9 years old. I know riders only have a limited amount of seat time on the bike and I wanted to start too create a long term plan for my team. The plan includes setting up the team’s infrastructure to allow young riders the opportunity to compete in a team environment and also have access to a vast amount of knowledge from experienced staff. We have all seen the positive events from the Italian and Spanish teams who have bought in, nurtured and guided young talent from the start of their careers. Deborah has the same vision and has been instrumental in helping many Australian riders who have competed at the highest level for a number of years. Deborah’s knowledge and contacts will greatly assist young riders with aspirations of competing at the highest level. We will run bikes in the Supersports 600 class, the Supersports 300cc class and in the R3 Cup Series. Eventually we would like to have a bike competing in every class of the ASBK which will allow riders to step up as their level of experience grows over a number of years.” Said Brandon.

Deborah added “I am very happy to be involved with Brandon Demmery Racing, a team that has proven experience and the same vison as me to develop Australian riders. After sponsoring Australian riders International for the last few years, I saw a need for a pathway for riders to get to the international level starting out first in Australia, then making their way into the World Championship. My dream is that this team will help young riders with that. I will also be the major sponsor for Joel Kelso who will compete in Moto 3 this year. In 2017 I will be focusing on developing Australian riders to ensure they have the options and the knowledge to progress to the international level.

The team will unveil its new livery on the bikes at the World Superbike round on the 23rd Feb

This year’s rider line up will include

Aidan Hayes, competing on the Yamaha R6 in Supersport 600cc class. Aidan had a very successful debut season in 2016 when he competed in both the Over 300cc Production and R3 Cup, taking a 3rd and a 4th place respectively.

Brandon Demmery, competing in the Supersport 300cc class. Brandon will defend his Championship win in the 2016 Over 300cc Championship on the Yamaha R3.

Broc Pearson, competing in the R3 Cup and Supersport 300cc class. Broc has competed in the Asian Road Racing Championship the last 2 seasons and will make a big impact when he returns to Australia Championship full time in 2017.

The Deborah Motorsports Team will have their first full hit out at the ASBK Official test at Phillip Island on the 30th January

The Deborah Motorsports teams first race meeting will be at the World Superbike Support events at Phillip Island the 24-26th February

Demmery to make trip of a lifetime!

Deborah Motorsports Supersports 300 rider Brandon Demmery has received an invitation to attend the VR46 Master Camp hosted by Valentino Rossi in Italy in May.

“Yamaha Motor Company and Yamaha Motors Australia selected me to be one of six riders worldwide to attend the VR46 Master Camp in Tavullia Italy on the 10-14th May. The trip includes 5 full days of on track training on both dirt and tar, plus class room and fitness training with the VR46 trainers” said Brandon.

“To be given the opportunity to ride and train with Valentino Rossi and the other VR46 riders is a dream come true. I have always wanted to meet Vale but to be given the chance to do so in a more personal setting is amazing. Im also hoping to gain a lot of knowledge and to improve my skills with the help of the VR46 trainers” said Brandon.

“Over the 5 days I will have the chance to ride at Misano on a Yamaha R3, ride the ranch dirt track on a Yamaha YZF250, race a go kart and also turn laps on a mini moto bike. I will also sit through fitness, riding and suspension classes which will be invaluable. I want to thank Yamaha Japan and Yamaha Australia for giving me this opportunity. I can’t thank them enough for having the faith in me as a rider and to be a representative of the company at the Mastercamp” said Brandon.

ASBK Round 2 Race Report

The weekend saw the Deborah Motorsports Team compete at round 2 of the Australian Superbike Championship at Wakefield Park in Goulburn NSW.

The weather forecast leading up to the event predicted adverse weather conditions for the entire weekend, and the prediction turned out to be true. With on and off rain over the 3 days of the event make it very difficult for riders Aidan Hayes (600cc) and Brandon Demmery (300cc).

Aidan was competing at his 2nd event on the 600cc Supersports bike and had a few boxes he wanted to tick. “I am getting a lot more comfortable on the bigger bike and after a strong showing at Phillip Island I wanted to qualify in the top 15 and score some series points this weekend” said Aidan. Aidan qualified in 13th in miserable conditions and finished both races over the weekend in 8th position. “I was very happy to convert my qualifying into great race results in a strong field of experienced 600 riders. I want to thank the team for helping me get accustomed to the Yamaha R6 and giving me the encouragement to push harder each time I go out on the bike and my sponsors and supporters for helping me go racing” said Aidan.

Brandon was an early pace setter in the practice sessions but a small mechanical issue in qualifying saw Brandon only manage to put the Yamaha R3 in position 20. “A fuel pressure issue cut qualifying short for me. I knew from that point on that I would have to battle through the stacked field all weekend if I was to get a great finish’ said Brandon.

Brandon pushed very hard in all 3 races over the weekend to score a 9th-5th-6th place finish. “I tried hard to get a perfect start all 3 races and pushed as hard as I could to gain positions throughout each race. The final race was cut short after a red flag just as I was catching the front pack. I know I had enough pace to run with the leaders but with only 5 laps of the 10 scheduled, I run out of laps” said Brandon.

Based in Wagga Wagga NSW, Brandon and his team are always looking for the next race.

Brandon started racing at age 6, and then progressed from dirt track and motocross to be one of Australia's rising talents on a junior road racing bike.

In 2013 he won both the Australian and the Victorian 250cc Production Championship at only 16 years of age.

In 2014 Brandon raced a Kawasaki Ninja 300 bike as a senior for the first time and won the Australasian FX300 Championship.

In 2015 he raced a 600cc bike in the Supersport 600 Championship, and a R25 in the Asian Road Racing Championship.
